About Dollar

Dollar — Forty Pounds of Compact Chaos Who Is, Objectively, Worth at Least a Million Yes. His name is Dollar. No, we did not name him ironically. Yes, the joke writes itself and we have already made it approximately four hundred times. Moving on. Dollar came from a hard situation — living on a chain, saved after being attacked by other dogs, not exactly the start any dog deserves. But here is the thing about Dollar: he has absolutely no interest in dwelling on any of that. He is two years old, he is in foster, he is thriving, and he has already fully moved on to his main personality, which can best be described as a golden retriever's enthusiasm crammed into a forty pound body with absolutely no volume control. This dog contains multitudes. He will erupt into full zoomie chaos with the energy of someone who just had three espressos and then — without transition, without warning — go completely boneless in your lap and become the world's most compact, most sincere little baby. There is no in between. There is only maximum Dollar. Here is what else he is bringing to the table: he is dog friendly, people friendly, and kid friendly, which is a genuinely impressive trifecta. He knows sit, is eager to please, and is smart enough that when you actually commit to training him he is going to pick things up embarrassingly fast. He is quiet and tidy in his space, non-destructive, and somehow — given everything else about him — a genuinely pleasant housemate. He also loves the car, which means he is adventure ready at all times and will absolutely judge you for not taking him places. Now, in the spirit of full transparency, a few things Dollar is still working on. Leash manners are a work in progress — he has strong opinions about direction and pace and is not shy about sharing them. Potty training is close but not quite finished, so patience and consistency will get you there. Cats and small critters are a hard no — he has decided chase is not a hobby but a calling, and we respect his commitment even if the cat does not. And the fence situation: it needs to be high. Genuinely, meaningfully, no-I-am-serious high. Dollar has hops. He needs an active home that is going to appreciate a dog who makes life louder and funnier just by existing in it. Someone with a secure yard, no cats or small animals, and a willingness to put in a little work on the basics — because Dollar is smart enough that the investment will pay off faster than you expect. Dollar has been through enough. He is ready to just be a dog now, preferably yours, preferably starting immediately. His name is Dollar and he is absolutely priceless. We will see ourselves out. Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home.
