Karla is just three years old, but her eyes tell a story far beyond her age, one marked by a difficult and uncertain start to life. She is microchipped and will be spayed in the coming days, putting the first part of her life behind her, getting her ready for her new adventures. Right now, she is very shut down, quietly watching the world from a distance as she tries to understand that she will have a different place now. With patience and gentle time spent together, she does begin to show small signs of trust, the kind that feel incredibly meaningful when they happen. She is getting used to being handled in a new place and will soon begin learning how to walk on a leash, one small step at a time. Karla isn't the kind of dog who will immediately run into your arms, but she is the kind who will slowly bond with the person who gives her a chance. Helping her grow will take time, compassion, and consistency, but it will also be one of the most rewarding journeys you could ever take. She will be a beautiful and wonderful companion, just waiting for someone to work with her on a new life.
