Bear came to the shelter in January severely underweight but since he has been here he has gained over 10 pounds! He can be a little nervous at first but when he opens up he blossoms. Bear is always asking for attemtion from the people he knows and asks for pets. Bear has been experencing a lot of kennel stress from being at the shelter for so long and he needs someone who will give him some time to decompress in a new home. He can be a bit nervous around new things, like leashes, but with gentle guidance, he quickly warms up and shows his playful, loving side. He enjoys being petted, leans into affection, and is very interested in connecting with humans. Bear will benefit from a patient adopter who can continue his care at home. This includes providing a healthy diet and regular feeding schedule to maintain his weight and body condition, follow-up veterinary care including dental evaluation and cleaning, and ongoing attention to his overall health and comfort.
