About Rufus
Meet Rufus, a one-of-a-kind mix with a little Shih Tzu, some Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and just a hint of Beagle. His past wasn’t easy—he was abandoned in Houston, but those days are long gone. Now, Rufus is leash and crate trained and walks politely on introduction to other dogs. He loves having canine friends but prefers a gentle start. Rufus gets along with children and really just wants to play with cats—once the cats warm up to him, everyone has fun. Sudden loud noises spook him, a remnant of life on the street, but time and kindness help him get better. He’s a sucker for snacks, belly rubs, and anything with a chewy texture, especially if it squeaks. Medium-length fur in a tricolor coat, Rufus turns heads and hearts alike. He’s looking for someone who will appreciate his gentle ways and his playful, loyal spirit. In Humble, TX, Rufus is waiting for his first real home—the one that proves happy endings don’t need to be fairy tales. Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin!
