Here's an update from Milo's foster: “Milo is settling in well! He doesn't show much interest in the other dogs and prefers to stay close to me, he's truly my little shadow. He has been super sweet and loves curling up on my lap and looks forward to our daily walks. He does seem to prefer women and has been cautious around my husband, occasionally growling, but will allow him to pet him.” Milo's ideal home would be with a female adopter who is home most of the time or works from home. He does not need another dog in the home, but would do fine with another small dog who isn't interested in playing. He whines when he is first crated, but settles down quickly. He prefers a quiet environment, so an adult only home is ideal for Milo. Milo is a 5 1/2 year old, 15 lb, Chihuahua mix. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs.
