Tina is an 11 yr old Chihuahua/Mini Pinscher mix, born approx Oct 2014. She was rescued as a "stray" in 2019 in the Dallas area & placed in foster care. Then she was adopted in late 2019 by a loving dog mom whose age & circumstances have made it difficult for her to continue providing the care Tina deserves. So, she has reached out to us for help. Tina was diagnosed as diabetic in 2020 & requires insulin shots twice daily, after her am & pm meals. She marches right up to you after meals to receive her insulin without a fuss. She must know it makes her feel better! Tina is housetrained. She's also crate trained & loves to sleep in her crate at night. ? She's spayed, vaccinated & current on monthly preventions (Sentinel flavor tabs.) She's currently overweight at 10.5 lbs. She gets along well with other small dogs & “tolerates” larger dogs if they don’t bother her. Riding in a car is NOT her favorite thing to do. Tina barks when anyone comes to the door. She thinks she’s a Rottweiler when it comes to protecting her family! She is cautious around strangers & will guard you tenaciously. Tina is very loving once she gets to know you. She will attach to her “caregiver” & wants to be close to that person whenever possible. She's gentle & patient with children who are old enough to know how to treat a small, older dog. Tina’s LIKES: ?Cuddling in the chair with you. ?Meal time! ?Treats at snack time. ?Sunning in the yard when the weather is nice. ??Chasing birds or squirrels when she is feeling energetic. ???Walks in the neighborhood with her favorite person. ***owner will provide one vial of Novalin N insulin (about a three month supply), one box of 100 syringes, & one bag of her food (Rachel Ray Nutrish Small breed).
