Hi, I'm River<br/><br/>I'm a very sweet, affectionate girl who loves being close to my people. I might start out a little &quot;velcro,&quot; but as I get comfortable, I'm happy to relax nearby on my own. don't worry though, I'll still lift my head to watch where you're going. I just like knowing you're there.<br/><br/>I'd much rather be up where you are than tucked away in a dog bed. When you're gone, I spend my day curled up on my blanket on the sofa, keeping an eye on the door. The moment I hear the garage open, I'm up and waiting to greet you like it's the best moment of my day (because it is). I love saying hello at the door.<br/><br/>I walk nicely on a leash and don't pull, though I do enjoy stopping to sniff-those scent breaks are important brain work, after all. I prefer to do my business off leash, but I can manage on leash if given enough time. If there's a safe off-leash area, I'll handle it quickly and get right back to you.<br/><br/>I'm polite with people and don't jump, especially when standing... but if we're on the sofa together, I might try to sneak a kiss. Bigger dogs make me a little unsure of myself, though I'm not reactive-just cautious. Smaller dogs, on the other hand, are very exciting, and I love meeting them and playing chase. At night, when it's dark and sounds travel farther, I'm a bit more alert. I'll happily go out for my last potty break, but I'll lead you right back inside where it's cozy and safe.<br/><br/>I do get some adorable evening zoomies-sometimes even right before bed! Occasionally I get too excited and have a small accident, but that's the only time it's ever happened. I'm otherwise very reliable, even when I'm home alone during the workday.<br/><br/>Most days I eat my meals right away... and some days I let it sit until the afternoon. Maybe I'm just holding out for a tasty topper because I know you're a softie. The world may never know.<br/><br/>If you're sleeping in, I'm all for it. Mornings are when I'm at my cuddliest-I love staying tucked in close, soaking up that quiet, cozy time together.<br/><br/>If you're looking for a loyal, gentle companion who will watch for you at the door and melt into you in the mornings, I just might be your girl. ...
