Dog's Name: Pup Rufus (RUF0426LMUMN) Estimated Breed: Great Dane / Lab mix Approximate Age: 6 months Approximate Weight: 40 lbs Currently Living at: Boarding Adoption Fee: $500 DOG'S DESCRIPTION: Meet Pup Rufus! Hi there! My name is Rufus, and I'm a big, sweet puppy with an even bigger heart. I was rescued by the wonderful humans at K-9 Lifesavers from the TN/VA area, and now I'm on the lookout for my forever family. I'll admit, when I first arrived everything felt a little scary—especially that funny leash thing. But guess what? In just one day I went from being nervous about it to happily walking along with a 9-year-old! Turns out I'm a quick learner and pretty brave after all. One of my favorite things in the world is kids. I adore them! If your home has little humans who want a loyal buddy to play with, cuddle with, and grow up with, I'm your guy. Do you like adventures? Because I LOVE car rides. Road trips, errands, drives to the park—you name it, I'm ready to hop in and ride shotgun. I'm still a young pup, which means I'm in my prime learning age. With a little guidance, training, and lots of love, I'll grow into an amazing companion. I'm eager to learn, eager to please, and I can't wait to be part of a family who will help me become the best dog I can be. If you're looking for a sweet, loyal, adventure-ready pup who loves kids and is ready to learn, I might be the perfect match. Apply today to meet me—I can't wait to find my forever home! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family. Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet. Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.
