About Raven
Raven, along with her sister Faye, was found months ago in a small wooded area—both frightened and avoiding human contact. Over weeks, shelter staff worked patiently with Raven, gradually building up her trust. Now, she greets familiar faces daily, seeks out attention, walks on leash, manages stairs, and even knows a few basic commands. She has faced plenty of fears and come out stronger, though new people can still make her uneasy. Treats and a gentle approach help her settle in. Raven is searching for a home ready to go at her pace. She still needs to master living indoors, including crate training and housebreaking. A calm household with another friendly dog and older kids would be a good fit, and she really thrives with canine companionship. She gets along well with other dogs, but not cats. Raven has come a long way—she just needs someone to help her finish the journey to family member. Make their next chapter their best one yet.

Questions about Raven
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Raven is a mixed Shepherd, a breed that often adapts well to both suburban and rural homes, especially those with space to roam and patient owners. She'll do best in a setting that’s calm, predictable, and allows for positive reinforcement.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
As a mixed Shepherd, Raven will appreciate regular access to a secure yard or frequent walks. This breed enjoys space to explore and stretch their legs but also values time indoors with their family.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Shepherd mixes like Raven are often good with older children who respect boundaries and understand dog behavior, especially since she’s still building confidence. Young kids might overwhelm her, so older, calm children would be the best match.
