We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters. Currently Living at: DC area foster home! Special adoption considerations: Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think this pup would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure she can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes. Nyra is Looking For: Nyra is a sato, a dog from Puerto Rico. She raised her baby Nahla well, and Nahla went off to get her own home. Now Nyra - who didn't get to see enough of the world in her previous situation - is ready to get her own humans. For sniffy walks, to see more of the world. And to love and be loved by. What My Foster Says About Me: Nyra is building her confidence more and more each day, and it’s been wonderful to watch her progress. She enjoys her independence and downtime, but she also has a sweet, cuddly side once she feels comfortable. Nyra appreciates clear boundaries—especially when meeting new dogs—and does best with proper, thoughtful introductions. Once she settles in, she does very well. Overall, she’s a lovely companion who will thrive in a patient, understanding home. All she asks in return is love, patience, and plenty of long, sniffy walks.
