About Demi
DEMI - and her sister Turbo Demi and Turbo are bonded sisters and must be adopted together. They are a pair, a team, a tiny colony of two, and they come as one. These girls were born in a feral colony north of town. Their mother passed away when they were just a few weeks old, and a devoted grandmother cat stepped up to care for them. They came indoors when they each weighed barely a pound, and they have been loved on every single day since. But the lessons grandmother taught them - be cautious, trust slowly, stay alert - those are part of who they are. And honestly, given where they came from, that wisdom makes complete sense. Demi and Turbo are not broken cats waiting to be fixed. They are whole cats, blossoming on their own timeline, looking for a home that will cherish them exactly as they are today. DEMI Demi is the observer. She watches the world, and her sister, with big, deep golden-amber eyes, curious and present, still deciding what she thinks of you. She is a little shorter and stout in the most endearing way, with a stunning brown tabby coat and vivid black stripes. The easiest way to spot her is the stripe on her right cheek, which looks smudged at the edges, softer than her sister's. Once you know, you always know. TURBO Turbo is the brave one. Every single morning she comes to greet her foster, rubbing against his legs and purring while breakfast is made, accepting gentle pets on her head and back. She is a tall, lean brown tabby with clear, bright yellow eyes and a crisp, sharply defined stripe on her right cheek. She goes first so Demi can watch and decide. * It took their foster seven months to reliably tell them apart. These days their differences are becoming more distinct with every week that passes. WHAT THEY LOVE Wand toys, laser pointers, and chasing balls for hours Big open windows with a view of the birds Cat enrichment videos on YouTube Your company. They will sit nearby and fill the room with easy, quiet warmth. Mealtime (enthusiastic eaters, impeccable litter box habits) LIFE WITH DEMI AND TURBO They will move if you reach out to touch them, but they will come back. They always come back. They are not aggressive in the slightest. They simply have good reasons, passed down through generations, to take their time with trust. They will share your space, watch your every move with genuine interest, and play their hearts out. They are just not huggers. Not yet. They have lived alongside many cats in their foster home and have always found their footing. Their very best friends were two gentle orange boys. We think they would do beautifully in a home with an older, calm, settled male cat who would simply exist alongside them while everyone gets comfortable. THE PERSON THEY ARE WAITING FOR You already know if this is you. You are the kind of person who feels honored, not frustrated, when a cautious animal finally relaxes in your presence. You understand that a cat sitting three feet away, watching you with soft eyes, is a form of closeness. You do not need a lap cat to feel loved by a cat. You will give these girls a safe, peaceful home. You will play with them every day. You will enjoy their company without needing to hold it. And on the morning Demi finally leans into your hand for the very first time, and we think she will, you will understand exactly what it means. These girls do not need to be rescued from who they are. They just need someone who sees them clearly and loves what they see.
