Thank you!** Meet Twig Skates, a 6-week-old Black Lab mix, weighing 4 pounds and 10 oz (as of 4/12/26). This girl was born locally with the rest of her SKATES litter when her then-pregnant mom, Ella Mae Momma Skates, came to Great Dog from the South. Lucky for you, the Skates litter are actually famous athletes who can't wait to skate their way into your heart! Twiggy girl has been keeping pace with her siblings since day one. Once tiny and twig-like at birth, she’s filling out into a fuzzy little butterball, complete with those classic puppy-dog eyes no one can resist. You might as well give in to her hypnotizing gaze, go to the cupboard and get those treats for Twiggy now! Mostly laid back and easygoing, she’ll quietly win you over then suddenly burst into action, zipping across the living room and making everyone laugh with her playful antics. Why go to a comedy club when you've got comedy and entertainment right at home? Named for a hockey “twig,” she may have started small, but she’s got just the right mix of spirit, big personality and surprising strength to make a big impact. The Skates litter play well with other dogs and should be good with kids because of their teensy and sweet nature. They haven't met cats yet, but even felines recognize when they're in the presence of greatness! Since these pups are still young, they'll need love and patience with all things puppy training (potty, crates, leash, etc.) They can't wait to show you some skating tips 'cause it's too embarrassing watching you fall in the rink! It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application.
