AvailableAbout Mr. Deeds
Mr. Deeds entered Corona Animal Shelter as a stray, and sadly, no one came to claim him. He is estimated to be 11 years old and weighs 10 lbs. We welcomed Mr. Deeds as a Frosted Face on April 11th, and the next day, he participated in our Stroll for Seniors at Lake Poway. He walked nicely on leash, was friendly towards every person he met and had a cheerful little bounce in his step. On-site, Mr. Deeds is the unofficial greeter in our littles' play yard, greeting everyone who enters with his tail wagging and happily accepting all pets offered. For his next adventure, Mr. Deeds went on a 5-day Frosted Field Trip, where we learned more about him in a home environment, and he further cemented his status as a super-duper walking companion! In addition to soaking up the comforts of being in a home again, Mr. Deeds enjoyed a cafe visit, walks around the neighborhood, hikes on area trails, and a fun visit to Harveston Lake. Here's the scoop from his foster mom about their time together: "After I picked up Mr. Deeds at FFF, he rode quietly in my backseat crate to Barnett Ranch. We walked the short loop in record time. He loves to walk and behaved perfectly on leash. We rehydrated in the shade, and then we went to a coffee shop, where Mr. Deeds was quiet and well-mannered. He was a little too interested in my muffin and coffee, but I had some dog treats, so we practiced "This is my snack; that is your snack." At home, I trimmed Mr. Deeds' face and brushed him in a few short sessions. I also gave him a bath, and although he tried to jump out a couple of times, he did not seem to mind being redirected. Mr. Deeds slept on my bed, but was also comfortable in a dog bed. He hopped up on the couch in the evening and enjoyed being close. He was awake before me in the morning, but did not wake me. I left him for 15 minutes to run errands and observed him on camera. He was quiet and not destructive. Mr. Deeds and I walked two or three times daily for one-half to one hour. He did not pull or bark and reacted to people and other dogs with a friendly vibe and tail wags. Even when a big dog behind a fence was loudly barking, Mr. Deeds took the high road and just looked at him for a minute and moved on. He climbed my condo stairs with ease. The only time I heard him bark was during our fire sprinkler inspection, and he barked at the technician. Mr. Deeds ate all his food and did not seem to be a picky eater. When he was a little too interested in my food, I distracted him with a peanut butter-filled Kong. I'm not sure he knew what it was initially, but he quickly got the hang of it!" Mr. Deeds is a sweet boy who will be a loyal best friend and wonderful walking buddy for a very lucky adopter. Might that be you? To meet Mr. Deeds, please email: placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org
