AvailableAbout Blinky
For most of his 9 years, Blinky lived with his owner in a small room at a care facility. For this reason, he can understandably be shy at first, but once he feels safe, his sweet, loving personality shines through! To help us learn more about him, 15 lb. Blinky went on a two-week Frosted Fling. He proved to be such a wonderful houseguest that his stay was extended to four weeks! Here's the scoop from his foster mom: "It's clear Blinky was previously well-loved by how cuddly, gentle, and sweet he is. His energy matches his person's energy, and he's down for whatever you're doing. He loves walks, hikes, and going outside, but he is just as content laying on the couch watching TV and cuddling with you. Blinky loves it when you say his name - instant tail wags! He also knows "sit", but his favorite word is "walk". He lights up when you reach for his leash! Blinky bonds quickly. By day two, he was already my bestie. He is very much a Velcro dog and will follow you anytime you get up. That said, Blinky does not have any separation anxiety when home alone. He just sleeps on the couch or bed waiting for me to return and is so happy when I do. Blinky has been great and gentle with everyone that's he's met with us, including toddlers. Occasionally, he barks at strangers on walks or is very shy. Blinky is great with the mellow cats in our house -even kittens. He only interacted with a small dog during our fling, and he did well. They co-existed in the yard with no issues. Blinky also doesn't bark at other dogs at FFF, but he is leash-reactive and barks at dogs while on walks. At bedtime, he's fine as long as the cats are already on the bed. If a cat jumps up after he's settled, he may lunge briefly to sniff them, then he quickly relaxes again. Blinky acts much younger than his years, and I would think he's 3-4ish if I didn't know he was 9. He hops easily into the car, is a strong walker, does great hiking (~3.5 miles). Blinky eats a combo of kibble and wet food; we feed him in his crate because our cats tend to show interest in his food, which he doesn't tolerate well. He is potty-trained. Blinky is happiest being included in whatever you're doing. He's been to restaurants, stores, hiking, and small dog playdates. He's a great work-from-home partner as he will sleep right next to you while you're working. Blinky needs to work on his leash reactivity but is otherwise a perfect dog!"
