About Peeps
Imagine being a tiny, 10-pound pup, left all alone in the woods on Easter Sunday. That was the reality for little Peeps. His luck changed when a Good Samaritan, out launching a boat in the swamps, spotted a flash of fur among the trees. Peeps was scared, emaciated, and completely solo-or so we thought. Shortly after he was rescued and brought to New Orleans, we received incredible news that a second "Peep" (his sibling!) was found in the exact same spot. Peeps is a 1-year-old Chihuahua/Pug mix with a heart much bigger than his 10-pound frame. While his start in life was incredibly ruff, he is proving every day that he's a resilient little soul. He is "sugary sweet," just like the Easter candy he's named after! Though he's understandably timid at first, he warms up quickly once he knows he's safe. He absolutely craves human affection. He's up-to-date on all vaccinations, Microchipped and Heartworm negative. He is currently working on gaining some much-needed weight; once he's a bit sturdier, he will be neutered. Peeps needs a patient family who understands he's been through a lot. He'll need a little time to "decompress" from his time in the woods, but with a gentle touch, he is going to be a world-class companion. Peeps has every reason to be wary of the world, yet he chooses to seek out love. He is a survivor who just wants a warm lap and a steady supply of belly rubs. "He went from the swamps to the city, and now he's ready to go from the rescue to your heart." Ready to give this sweet boy the life he deserves? Apply to adopt Peeps today! He's spent enough time alone in the woods-it's time for him to find out what a real "happily ever after" feels like.
