Thoreau can be a bit shy around strangers, but he warms up in response to tasty treats and patient respect of his boundaries. Although he's new to leashed walking, he's already mastered other doggie skills, such as crate-training, and we're confident that he'll master the art of walkies, too, especially if his training includes lots of encouragement and positive reinforcement--i.e., treats! Thoreau will thrive best in a home where any children are old enough to understand and respect canine body language, and where he's allowed to build relationships at his own pace.
