MY STORY: Meet Snow White, a 6-year-old Bichon mix who is just now discovering how big and wonderful the world is. Snow White recently left a breeding farm, meaning she has spent her whole life in a barn setting. Because of this, she’s a little shy and is looking for a "hero" adopter who understands that the best things in life take time. She will need a mentor dog in the home to model after and would be okay without a fenced in yard. Foster update: Snowy is 90 % potty trained. She has only had a few accidents in the past few weeks. She walks really well on a leash and loves her walks. She prances along with her head and tail high and every so often she looks up at me with a smile. Snowy sleeps through the night in a kennel next to her foster brother's kennel. She needs to be able to be by her golden brothers or she gets nervous. On occasion my husband takes the boys for a car ride and Snowy isn't sure what to do when it's just her and I at home. You can tell she is lost without them. When they get back home, her tail wags, she hops around and gives them little nose bops! Snowy seems to understand the word "No" and also "go potty". She will climb up the stairs but is still afraid to go down them. She is still skittish around me; she will run when I try to put on her harness for a walk or its time for bed and she needs her ears cleaned. She seems to be less nervous around my husband. Probably because he never cleans her ears. Overall, she is doing really well, but I honestly think she would do best in a home with one or more friendly dogs. She really looks to them for guidance and comfort. One other thing, we have a cat and she just avoids the cat like Goose and Gunner do. She doesn't seem to be afraid of her though.
