About Gigi
Gigi is a remarkable Rottweiler with a story you won’t forget. At just 1.5 years old and now spayed and vaccinated, she’s already overcome more than most dogs face in a lifetime. Gigi was once nearly euthanized as a stray because her health issues were so severe that the shelter couldn't provide the care she needed. Thankfully, she landed in rescue, where her rare autoimmune disorder—Masticatory Muscle Myositis—was diagnosed. Along with entropion, which left her almost blind, Gigi faced a tough road: surgeries, specialized veterinary care, and a long recovery. With permanent contacts inserted in her eyes, Gigi can finally see the world around her again and has bounced back impressively. Despite Gigi’s progress, she is still considered special needs. She can’t open her mouth wider than an inch, which means mealtime and toys require extra attention to prevent choking. Socialization is new for her, too—she spent months isolated during recovery and is still learning how to interact. She’s currently dog selective and does best with friendly dogs that respect boundaries. Gigi hasn’t been tested with children or cats yet. She’s a shining example of resilience and loyalty, just waiting for the right person to give her a safe, loving home. Start your journey together! Apply now.

Questions about Gigi
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Rottweilers like Gigi generally thrive in homes with secure yards and confident handlers. They do best in environments where their strong, loyal nature can be channeled with structure and routine.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Gigi, as a Rottweiler, needs a fair amount of outdoor space to explore and stretch her legs. A fenced yard is ideal to give her the opportunity to safely enjoy time outside.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Rottweilers can be very loyal and protective with children when properly socialized. For Gigi, since she hasn't been tested with kids and needs gentle handling due to her mouth restriction, a home with older or dog-savvy children would be preferable if children are present.
