Nova is a beautiful, intelligent dog who just needs a little time and patience to feel comfortable in new environments. She’s slightly aloof at first, greeting new people with gentle sniffs and taking her time to warm up—but once she trusts you, she’ll lean in for affection and show her sweet side. She is extremely high energy and would love a family willing to give her the exuberant exercise routine she craves! Nova knows several cues, including sit, shake/paw, down, and possibly roll over! She enjoys calm walks and has been easy to leash and handle. With slow introductions and a gentle approach, Nova becomes more relaxed and even shows a playful side—she likes tennis balls and squeaky toys when she’s feeling at ease. Nova may do best as the only dog in the home and will benefit from continued socialization with new people and dogs. She has lived around cats and was curious but never harmful, though the cats weren’t thrilled with her enthusiasm. She may experience some anxiety when left alone, so a home that can provide companionship and positive reinforcement will help her thrive.
