About Astro

Ruh-roh! Meet Astro, a 75lb fellow with comic-book energy who landed in Fairfax, VA after being left behind. He’s no space-traveling Jetson dog, but he’s made the best of his situation with plenty of heart and wits. Those who kept him safe before rescue shared that Astro is house trained, gets along with other dogs, walks well on leash, and, surprisingly, absolutely loves a good shower. Astro’s mischievous streak comes out around anything left on kitchen counters or in the sink—he sees those as enrichment challenges and rarely misses a chance for a snack. When meeting new people, Astro likes a proper sniff and a few seconds to get his bearings. Once he’s comfortable (especially if you have toys in hand), his goofy, playful side lights up the room: zoomies, toy tossing, and clowning around are all part of his routine. He’s neutered, up to date on vaccines, has a short black and cream coat, and can bring a bit of cartoon hilarity to any household ready for a loyal, playful sidekick. If you want a dog with equal parts energy and heart, Astro could be your perfect match. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
