Samhain was named after the Gaelic harvest festival. He came to the Scratching Post from Rudimentary Rescue in TN. And he was stumbled his way into EVERYONE'S hearts. Samhain has Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH) or Wobbly Cat Syndrome. Caused by the cerebellum -- the part of the brain responsible for balance -- not developing while in the womb, CH does not progress or get worse and is not contagious. Kittens often learn to adapt. Gravity just doesn't work for him the same way as all the other cats. That would NEVER stop Samhain! He has the spirit for adventure and seeks out answers to unasked questions! It may take some hopping and flopping, but he's going to get there! And he's going to be purring and chasing you every step of the way -- he just needs a good guide. His CH is rather severe. His youthful spirit inspires him to climb and try to jump from one ledge to another. As a result, he has some eye damage and needs to be assisted and trained to walk reliably. He is still learning to use the litter box, he knows where #2 goes, but #1 is still a work in process. Samhain is currently with a foster and we will schedule a visit upon approved application.
