Meet Rufus! This resilient, two-year-old German Shepherd has already overcome more than most dogs ever should—and through it all, he’s remained nothing but sweet, gentle, and full of life. Before joining the Serendipity pack, Rufus was picked up as a stray by animal control, and it was clear he had been struggling on his own for quite some time. His nails were painfully overgrown, and his skin was in rough condition, leaving him uncomfortable and in need of care. But despite everything he’s been through, Rufus greets the world with a wagging tail and a playful spirit that is impossible not to love. Now safe and receiving the care he deserves, Rufus is being treated for allergies and an ear infection. We expect his coat to gradually grow back in as he heals. Even in his current state, his handsome features and expressive eyes shine through—and we can only imagine how stunning he’ll be once he’s fully recovered. What hasn’t needed any fixing is Rufus’s heart. He is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and eager to connect with people. He loves attention, enjoys playtime, and has that classic German Shepherd loyalty just waiting to blossom with his future family. Rufus is looking for a home that will continue his care, provide him with patience as he heals, and most importantly, show him the love and stability he’s been missing.
