About Paisley
Meet Paisley, the mixed breed adolescent. Paisley was found as a stray in Santa Cruz County, so we don’t know much about her life before now. Staff have observed that she is a sweet girl who has enjoyed playing with toys and soliciting attention from staff and volunteers. Paisley is still very much a puppy and need an adopter who will bond with her through positive reinforcement based training on life skills and manners (potty training, leash walking). Paisley spent a little time in an adopters home recently unfortunately lifestyle changes resulted in Paisley coming back to us but we learned that she did coexsist nicely with a cat. She gets very excited to meet new people and dogs but can be a little shy at first. She was able to be left alone in the home free roaming up to five hours and did very well. She did great with potty training NO accidents!! Paisley is a quick learner and a polite puppy. If you are ready to take on a puppy, come meet Paisley today! The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
