About Ryan
They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now! Ryan is a young neutered male pit bull who arrived at the shelter with a urinary issue and was diagnosed with a bladder infection and a large bladder stone. The medical team promptly performed surgery to remove the stone, and his bladder is healing well post-operation. Stone analysis was pending but later confirmed a struvite stone, which means Ryan will likely need a prescription urinary diet, such as Purina UR, Hills CD, or Royal Canin SO, to help prevent future stones and keep his bladder healthy for life. The exact diet and care plan will be based on ongoing veterinary guidance. In addition to his urinary condition, Ryan also had a broken tooth, which was extracted during his stay. While in the shelter, Ryan has shown a very sweet and friendly nature, easily tolerating all handling by medical staff. He has "Happy Tail Syndrome," meaning he wags his tail so enthusiastically that he sometimes injures its tip by hitting it on kennel surfaces, resulting in intermittent wounds; this may require future management or even surgical intervention if it persists outside the shelter. Ryan urgently needs a rescue or a loving home able to manage his long-term urinary and potential tail care. He is an adorable, wiggly boy who hasn't had any observed behavioral challenges and deserves a comfortable, caring environment where he can thrive. Give them the home they have been waiting for.
