About Effie
Pug Rescue of New England (PRoNE) is a non-profit 501(c)(3), all volunteer foster home based rescue organization. MEET EFFIE! Effie is a 2.5-year-old petite fawn female pug. She’s incredibly smart, affectionate, and playful. Effie loves going for walks, carrying around her favorite bone, and playing ball outside—once she gets started, she’s all in and ready for fun. Effie is well-mannered and already potty trained and crate trained, happily sleeping in her crate each night with her favorite cozy blankets. Effie knows several commands including sit, outside, potty, food/dinner, and go to bed, and she absolutely loves being included in daily routines. She’s quick to learn and thrives when she has structure, love, and playtime. She enjoys little treats like frozen blueberries, small bits of rice, watermelon, or even a tiny carrot snack. Effie is a pug, so food is at the top of her hierarchy. She is being fed separately from the other dogs in the home just for safety. Little Effie wakes up every day excited for a brand-new opportunity for meals and walkies. So excited in fact she can get a little nippy. Give her her chew bone to divert her and all is good. She would love to be your companion for pet friendly errands. Effie loves a car ride and is well behaved for the ride. She’s the kind of dog who finds joy in the simple things: a walk, great on leash by the way, a toy, a comfy blanket, and her people nearby. It is reported that Effie has fun police tendencies, but she gets along well with her foster siblings and loves meeting new dogs. She has not been tested with cats. A little shy at first, Effie will warm up quickly and be your best friend! Effie has made great progress in foster care and is ready for a loving home that can continue giving her patience, consistency, and affection. Her foster family describes Effie as perfect! Are you ready to share your life with this sweet and silly girl? Check out her adoption requirements and give it your best shot!
