Nixon is a handsome 2-year-old dog with striking golden eyes, a goofy personality, and a deeply affectionate nature that makes it impossible not to love him. Weighing over 80 pounds, Nixon is a large, intelligent boy who forms strong bonds with his people and enjoys being involved in daily life. He is house trained, crate trained, walks nicely on leash, and has done well with other dogs. Nixon especially thrives when given structure, routine, and companionship, as he truly enjoys being close to his humans. Like many young large-breed dogs, Nixon is still continuing to build confidence and learn how to settle when life becomes busy or overstimulating around him. He will do best in a home prepared for his size, strength, and ongoing training needs while continuing to help him channel his energy in positive ways. Nixon is currently in foster care where we continue learning more about him every day. He is NOT a match for homes with cats due to his instinct to chase. Nixon is neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines, dewormed, on monthly preventatives, and has been treated for Lyme disease.
