Hella Jane
AvailableHella Jane is a female mastiff mix living in Potomac, MD. She’s about 5 years and 4 months old with a striking short black coat and the beginnings of a distinguished gray chin. Hella Jane is extra-large, fully house trained, and spayed with vaccinations up to date. She requires a quiet, no-children home and has a protective nature. Her best fit is with a very experienced adopter who can provide the structure and space she needs.
About Hella Jane
Hella Jane has been bouncing between fosters for close to three years, searching for the right person who truly gets her. She needs someone very dog-savvy, someone who recognizes that she has a strong mouth and high sensitivity to new environments. Meetings require a muzzle for everyone’s safety, but her foster mom has worked hard to keep her out of trouble. When trust builds, she’s all in—a loyal companion ready to be your shadow. Picture a regal, 115-120lb mastiff mix with the black coat, the beginnings of a gray chin, and the presence that fills a room. House and crate training are dialed in; if you forget potty time, she will let you know, loud and clear. Vaccinations are current, and she’s spayed. She’ll bond deeply with her person but gets triggered by strangers, so a quiet, low-traffic home (two adults max) is necessary. Ideally, she’ll be the only pet, but she’s shown with slow intros and other large dogs (when managed properly and with a muzzle) she can get along. No small animals, no cats, preferably no small dogs, and absolutely no children. A big, fenced yard is a must—she needs space to zoom, play with her toys, or just lounge and stare out the window. If you’re looking for a protection dog, she fits the bill, even if that’s not officially the sales pitch. She loves Cheetos and cozy corners, and her goofy streak is legendary. Toys, a patient heart, and safety-minded routines? She’ll reward you with unwavering loyalty. Start your journey together! Apply now.

Questions about Hella Jane
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Hella Jane, as a mastiff mix, tends to do best in calm, stable homes with plenty of space. She needs a quiet household with minimal comings and goings—ideally, just one or two adults.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Mastiff mixes like Hella Jane thrive with a large, securely fenced yard. She has lots of energy for zoomies and playtime, so an apartment or small yard won’t cut it.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Mastiffs can be gentle but, in Hella Jane’s case, she’s not suitable for homes with children due to her triggers and size. She’s looking for an adult-only household.
