About Rootie
Rootie has weathered quite a bit of upheaval, starting with a rescue years ago and then another just this past summer from a difficult situation in Southern California. Now safe, he's still finding his footingāhe's shy and uneasy in new environments. What Rootie really needs is a calm home with someone patient enough to let him come out of his shell at his own pace. He'd love a comfortable bed, gentle encouragement, and consistent kindness. Rootie is 8 years old, in good health, and weighs around 60 lbs. He isn't house trained yet, likely due to so much instability, but patience will go far with him. He can be transported from California to South Dakota to meet his future people. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
