Winston is a young, longhaired German Shepherd, just 8-9 months old and still very much a puppy. With his soft coat and adorable ear fluff, he’s as beautiful as he is endearing. Longhaired Shepherds like Winston tend to shed a bit less than their shorthaired counterparts, and his beautiful coat is just one of the many things that make him special. Winston was clearly a favorite at the shelter, and it’s easy to see why. He’s well-mannered for his age—walking politely on leash, not jumping up, and greeting both people with a calm, friendly demeanor. He appreciates attention without seeking it out constantly, and has a calm, easygoing nature. Winston is still very much a puppy, with puppy goofiness and energy. Because Winston is still so young, he will benefit from continued guidance and structure as he grows. We are looking for a home with German Shepherd experience to help him develop into a well-balanced, confident adult. Puppies are a life-long commitment. They need time, training, vet care and healthy feeding to become good canine citizens. The minimum adoption donation ranges from $350 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible. Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems. Our adoption process begins with completing an application on-line. A phone screening will soon follow, and lastly a home visit will be conducted by our volunteers.
