At just 1 year old and 26 pounds, Penne is a playful, resilient little lady with a big heart and an even bigger personality (and ears to match!). She’s the perfect mix of spunky and sweet; always ready for a game of tug, but just as happy to curl up for cuddles once she’s gotten her zoomies out. Penne is friendly with both new and familiar people, though she can be a little shy at first. Give her a moment, and you’ll see her warmup into a total lovebug who happily leans in for pets and attention. Watching her confidence grow has been such a joy, she’s a brave girl who keeps learning that the world isn’t such a scary place after all. When it comes to other dogs, Penne is all about fun! She absolutely loves to play and has participated in lots of playgroups where she shows off her rough-and-rowdy play style. She can get a little extra excited during play (she just loves it that much!), so she’ll do best with dog friends who can match her energy! Penne has a mild to moderate energy level and does a nice job walking on leash, with just a bit of enthusiasm here and there. She may feel a little unsure in brand new environments, but she bounces back quickly and keeps going! This sweet girl came to us from a recent cruelty case, but you’d never know it from the love she gives. Penne truly embodies strength and spirit. She recently had surgery to remove one eye due to a potential previous injury, but don’t worry...it doesn’t slow her down one bit! If anything, it just adds to her charm. She’s still the same happy, playful pup who’s ready to take on the world (and your couch). Penne is happiest when she gets plenty of time out and about—whether that’s playing, exploring, or just hanging out with her people. She’s a wonderful little companion who will thrive in a home that continues to build her confidence and lets her shine.
