About Leia
Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now! Leia is a wonderfully resilient mixed breed dog, fostered in Westerville, OH, who is ready to find her forever home. Estimated to be 6-8 years old and weighing in as a large-sized companion, Leia's DNA is as unique as her spirit—she's a blend of 50% Great Pyrenees, along with Cane Corso, American Pit Bull Terrier, and American Bulldog. Most importantly, she's 100% lovable! Having started life in tough conditions, Leia has transformed through care, love, and the dedication of her rescuers. She is now a healthy, playful girl who enjoys couch naps, sneaking onto laps, and discovering the joys of playing with her foster brothers in the yard. Leia gets along well with dogs, cats, and children. She is housebroken, crate trained, and is currently learning to walk nicely on leash. Food is a big motivator for her, and after her difficult past, she does best when fed separately from other pets to ensure she feels safe around meals. She loves outdoor adventures and will need a secure fenced yard or plenty of walks, as she’s quite interested in local wildlife! A sturdy fence is important, as her curiosity can get the better of her if she spots a deer or rabbit. If you are looking for a loving, food-motivated girl who will repay your kindness with affection and joy, Leia could be the perfect match. Adopters must be located in Ohio and able to meet Leia in person—no out-of-state adoptions or transport. Veterinary care, spay/neuter, microchipping, and vaccines have been provided. As a fun fact, Leia was born under the sign of Gemini—so she's sure to keep life interesting with her playful and curious personality! Start your journey together! Apply now.
