About Chauncey
Chauncey is a 2-year-old neutered male Australian Cattle Dog with a tough backstory—after his owner's death, he was left to fend for himself until dedicated rescuers stepped in just before his time ran out at a shelter. He’s now safe and has settled in well, showing all the typical Heeler traits: intensely loyal to his person, sharp, and eager to please. Chauncey needs someone who will give him patience during his transition, but he bonds deeply and will reward it with unshakeable companionship. Dog friendly, crate trained, and reliable on leash, he doesn’t require a fenced yard, and his foster raves about his intelligence and obedience. He seems potty trained but could use some consistency and continued routine. He’s looking for an adult home, and while he’s good with dogs, it’s too soon to say with cats. No young kids, please. Long-distance adopters are considered, but you’ll need to come to the Buffalo, NY area to meet him. Ready to start a new chapter with a dog who will truly be your partner? What are you waiting for?
