About Phyllis
Phyllis, a Clumber Spaniel, came into rescue from a tough environment and is finding her way in foster care. She’s about two years old and weighs 49 lbs, with a long, bicolor coat in shades of cream and tan. After coming in as a breeder surrender, she dealt with a severe ear infection and got a much-needed sanitary groom. Now spayed and feeling healthier, Phyllis has started opening up to the world. She remains quite shy, especially compared to her “Office” groupmates, but she’s consistently curious and gentle. Phyllis really enjoys exploring outside and sniffing around, though she’s still working on leash skills. She warms up nicely to people, with no mean bones in her body, just a tendency to hang back until she’s comfortable. Around dogs, she’s selective—comfortable with some like Roy and Beesly, not with others. She’d do best in a patient, experienced home that understands the quirks of shy or selective dogs and can help her gain confidence in daily life. Housetraining is a work in progress. A secure yard is preferred if possible. If you’re looking for a mellow, sweet companion ready for her second chance, Phyllis is waiting to blossom in the right home.
