About Sela

Sela thinks a body is a wonderland. Or an obstacle course. Sela is the type of dog that likes to be as close as possible. Like share the same clothes close. And we are happy to see her so outgoing. Sela was so scared when she arrived she couldn’t stop shaking and it took her weeks to open up to volunteers. Now it’s time for Sela to find a home with people that give her time to adjust and love her quirky cuddles. Chicago Animal Care and Control is located at 2741 S. Western Ave., Chicago, IL, and is open from 12pm to 7pm daily. Walk-in visitors are welcome and helped on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are planning to adopt the day you visit, please plan to arrive before 5:30pm. Visitors arriving after 5:30pm will still be able to view animals in Pavilions A-B-C until 7pm. All dogs will be spayed/neutered and vaccinated before adoption. All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers). We recommend and can arrange dog-to-dog meet and greets for your current dog(s) to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination for your dog(s). Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.
