About Pip

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Pip is a tiny 9+ year old Chihuahua with the biggest, softest heart you could ever imagine. If there were ever an award for the most angelic, precious soul to walk this earth, it would belong to her. Pip’s story hasn’t been an easy one. She spent her life in a neglectful home, never knowing what it felt like to walk on grass, feel the sunshine, or be cared for. She lived indoors in poor conditions, surrounded by secondhand smoke, and had never even been taught to go potty outside. It took her rescuer two years of persistence and compassion to finally get her safely surrendered—and Pip has been blossoming ever since. When she was rescued, Pip was in very rough shape and needed major medical care. She underwent surgery to remove her left eye (untreated Glaucoma), and now she is pain-free. She is also deaf and has very limited vision in her remaining eye—but don’t let that fool you. Pip navigates the world using her sense of smell to find her foster mom & explore her surroundings. Watching her learn and adapt is nothing short of inspiring. And oh, how she loves life now. The outdoors is Pip’s happy place. The moment she feels the sunshine, she lights up. She rolls around in the grass with her belly up, soaking up every second of freedom she never had before. When she gets excited, she doesn’t just run—she hops like a little bunny rabbit, and it is as adorable as it sounds! She enjoys her walks (at her own, turtle-paced speed), taking in all the smells and fresh air. And when she’s ready to pick up the pace, she happily hops into her stroller for a “zoom zoom” adventure with her foster mom. Pip is wonderful with everyone—dogs, cats, and kids alike. She has a gentle, loving nature and just wants to be close to people. Her favorite thing? Being held like a baby and cuddled. She absolutely melts into you and soaks up every bit of affection. Sleep is another one of Pip’s specialties. The first night in her foster home, she experienced something new for the very first time—sleeping in a bed instead of on the floor. Now, if you place her on a couch or bed, she curls right up and drifts off peacefully. She also loves car rides, tagging along to the office, and running errands. Pip is the perfect little companion—quiet, content, and happy just being by your side. And at the end of the day? Nothing makes her happier than a cozy spot on the bed and a little bit of freshly cooked chicken as a bedtime snack. Pip is looking for a home that will cherish her for the rest of her days—a calm, loving environment where she can continue to feel safe, adored, and free. She may have had a difficult past, but her spirit is pure light. If you’re looking for a gentle, resilient, deeply loving companion... Pip is waiting for you. An added extra......once she gets to really know you and your routine, when you leave the house and come back and she initially smells and then sees you walk into the house, she literally starts talking! It is by far the cutest thing ever, she howls and barks and whimpers and talks.
