Bowie is a 3 years old, shih tzu poodle mix (best guess?) with a playful, hilarious, and loving personality. He’s the definition of a social butterfly and he walks into every room like he’s already everyone's favorite dog. This sweet boy has a great medium energy level once he's settled in: he can go full play mode (especially if there’s another playful dog involved) or happily entertain himself with toys. He lives for connection—whether that’s a game of fetch, a long walk, or just being near his people. Bowie LOVES other dogs and would absolutely thrive with a playful canine sibling. We will be requiring a well-balanced and playful dog in the home, as Bowie settles in much faster with a dog pal. He takes cues well from other dogs and adjusts his play style, but his happiest moments are spent wrestling, chasing, and making new friends. Cats? He’s very curious and thinks they’re just mysterious little dogs—he’ll chase if they run but means no harm. He would be okay in a home with dog-savvy cats with the right introductions. He’s great on leash, rides well in the car, and approaches new environments with excitement and confidence. He’s also incredibly food-motivated (training win!), super smart, and eager to learn. He is making progress with potty training but will need continued structure and consistency. For now, belly bands are recommended indoors as he works through marking behaviors. Bowie does experience separation anxiety if he is left alone. If he has a dog buddy crated nearby, he settles down much faster. Again, we will require a dog friend in his forever home. But, due to barking, we will not be considering anyone who lives in an apartment. He sleeps peacefully in his crate overnight as long as he’s near his people and settles well when he doesn’t feel isolated. His dream home? One where he’s truly part of the family. However, we transport to about 30 different cities in the United States, using one of our trusted transport partners, once an adoption is confirmed.
