Meet the newest addition to the shelter - Willy! Willy is a 4 month old male Shih Tzu/Poodle mix. He is currently too young to be neutered yet, so by state law the adopter will have to get that completed within the next few months. Willy's previous owners had just recently acquired him, but soon found that their age was stopping them from keeping up with a young pup. They said Willy is a great dog, but unfortunately just wasn't a fit for them, so he's now looking for a forever home! Willy has been started on some training and is partially housebroken, but he still has some accidents in the house. He's at a great age to keep training and socializing to make sure he will be a well-behaved adult! When you come in to meet Willy he's going to look a bit different. His usually long fur was started to get matted, so we shaved him down to give him a clean start. As his fur grows out, his owner will need to routinely brush and groom him to ensure it stays in good condition. Willy can be shy when you first meet him, but he is such a sweet boy! He has been around other dogs before and did will with them, but we did notice some of our loud barkers here at the shelter can be scary for Willy. He also does good with kids once he gets to know them, and his previous owners thought he would do well with some young ones to keep him company. He has never been around cats before. As always, we recommend a meet and greet with the whole family before adopting to make sure he would be a good fit. Don't wait, because we don't think Willy will be here for long!
