Meet Blackie One look into Blackie's eyes, and you can feel it... that quiet, gentle soul just waiting to be loved. Blackie is one of eight dogs we recently took in from a hoarding case. Her world was small, unfamiliar, and overwhelming—and her recovery has been slow, but meaningful. She has come as far as she can with us, and now she needs something more... a home. A very special home. Blackie is not a “typical” adoption. She is a heart project. She will need a person who understands that what she needs right now is socialization, not training. Someone who knows how to let a dog set the pace. Someone who understands that trust is earned, not forced. The good news? What Blackie Needs: A calm, patient home willing to go at her pace An experienced adopter familiar with shy or undersocialized dogs Slow, thoughtful introductions to any resident dogs (she may do well with the right match) No cats or young children (fast movements are still very scary for her) Blackie cannot be cornered, rushed, or pushed. She needs someone with patience, compassion, and the willingness to meet her where she is—every single day.
