While she meant no harm, her “I’ll take that, thanks” approach to life (including meals 😅) and constant activity level weren’t the right fit for a quieter, medically fragile companion. At around 15 lbs, Maci Mae is currently rocking a few extra pounds thanks to her talent for sneaking second servings—but she’s now on a strict “eat your own food and only your food” plan and is already on her way to a healthier, happier weight. Don’t let her sass fool you—this girl is incredibly sweet. She loves to cuddle, happily gives kisses, and enjoys playing (especially with her buddy Silo). She’s got that classic terrier confidence and curiosity, which sometimes shows up as her deciding it’s “fun” to chase certain cats (looking at you, Bastet 👀). That said, she’s been wonderful with Sylna, the paralyzed kitten, which tells us her intentions are playful rather than anything more. She’ll do best with confident, dog-savvy cats or in a home where her playful curiosity can be redirected with structure and guidance.
