Laverne, lovingly called Mama, is a sweet little 4–5 year old, about 14 pound girl who’s ready for a home of her own. She came to us pregnant and did an amazing job raising her six puppies, who are now starting their own lives. Now it’s her turn to be cared for and loved. Laverne has the best personality and truly loves everyone she meets. She’s happiest curled up in a lap or just being near her person. She’s great with other dogs, rides well in the car, walks nicely on leash, and is just an easy, gentle companion. We’re guessing she may be a Papillon or Yorkie mix. She isn’t spayed yet since she was nursing, but she will be fully vetted and spayed through our care. Mama is ready to leave her mom duties behind and finally have a forever home where she can just be someone’s baby. ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. You must begin our adoption process by applying to adopt on clawsadopt.org. Please do NOT inquire via Petfinder, social media messengers or in our comments. We will only be looking at applications! 2. Please make sure you fill out our adoption application COMPLETELY. We may not be able to respond to applications that are not completely filled out with the proper information. Side note: on our applications, the more details you provide = the better. 3. We prefer applicants live within 60 miles of Closter, NJ. (Applicants who live farther away may still apply. However, please note we do prioritize local applications as we try our best to serve our local community first.) 4. Please respect our organization, our volunteers and our process.
