Layla is a lively, affectionate 10 year old girl who adores people and is good with older kids. She likes other dogs but she doesn't quite know how to play well with them so she'd be best as an only dog. She’s happiest in a home where someone is around much of the time, since she loves being right in the middle of family life. Layla has a big personality and expresses herself with plenty of barking, often just for fun, so she’ll do best with people who appreciate a chatty companion. We also think it's best she's in a single family home setting and not an apartment. Layla also has allergies that require ongoing care. When she first arrived, her skin was in rough shape, but with treatment and a special diet, she’s made great progress! She does need continued management to keep her comfortable. Her foster mom worked hard on figuring out a mainly holistic regiment for her allergies and it's working wonders! Detailed information and instructions would be passed along to her new forever family. With her playful spirit and loving nature, Layla will be a wonderful addition to a family that understands her needs and is ready to make her part of their everyday life. ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. We prefer applicants live within 60 miles of Closter, NJ. (Applicants who live farther away may still apply.
