About Velma
Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now! Introducing Velma! Sweet little Velma, along with her siblings Daphne and Fred, has already overcome a difficult start in life. Previously kept outside without enough food or water, these pups arrived in a fragile state—both emaciated and fearful. Thanks to time spent in a nurturing foster home, Velma has gained weight, started building confidence, and now weighs only about 6 lbs at 4-5 months old. Velma and her siblings are expected to remain small as adults. To help Velma continue to blossom, she needs a home that understands the importance of ongoing socialization and patient training. Her best future depends on having another friendly adult dog in the home, as this companionship is essential for her confidence and growth—homes without other dogs cannot be considered. Velma is currently thriving with respectful children in her foster home, but adopters should know that young puppies like her are delicate and benefit most from gentle handling. Velma has received her first round of puppy vaccinations, deworming, and is microchipped. Her spay procedure, which will be arranged at the rescue's veterinary partner and covered at their cost, is mandatory between 8 and 12 months of age. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
