About Lachlan
If you have a soft spot for those signature bat ears, Lachlan will win you over. He was picked up after being found with two other dogs, abandoned and hoping for a ride to safety. Now he’s in Maine and ready for a new start. At about a year old, this Cattle Dog mix weighs in around 50 lbs and has a short, easy-to-maintain coat. Lachlan is all about snuggles and gravitates to people, with a particular fondness for men. He gets along well with kids, but family members should be prepared for a little exuberance—he’s still learning not to jump up for attention. He can be selective about doggy friends, preferring more relaxed dogs and tends to get along best with females or calmer pups. High-energy roughhousers aren’t his thing. Cats are off the table; Lachlan is too focused on them for comfort. He’s very smart, highly motivated by treats, and walks nicely on leash. As a young Cattle Dog, he’ll need daily walks, play and plenty of mental stimulation, as his herding tendencies run strong. Lachlan will thrive with a family who understands his breed and is ready to put in the effort. He’s eager for a family who will keep him engaged, loved, and safe.
