Meet Ricky: Your Gentle Little Sidekick ~8+ years old | 13 lbs | Shih Tzu Mix | Los Angeles, CA Ricky is a mellow, affectionate companion who loves nothing more than being close to his person. Whether he’s curled up next to you or riding along in a stroller, he’s happiest simply being by your side. He is mostly blind (can see shadows) but navigates well once he learns his space. Ricky also likely has an old hind leg injury, but he still enjoys short walks and taking in the world at his own pace. In the home, Ricky is easygoing and low maintenance. He is house trained, does not have separation anxiety, and may bark briefly at times but settles quickly. He is extremely food motivated, which makes bonding with him fun and rewarding. Ideal Home: A peaceful, adult-only household where he can relax. Compatibility: Good with calm dogs; no cats or young children. Schedule: Needs a dedicated person available for mid-day potty breaks (roughly every 4–6 hours). Easy-to-Manage Care: weekly medicated baths for his skin, eye ointment twice daily (which he takes easily), and gabapentin as needed for comfort.
