About Gigi And Luna

Meet Gigi and Luna: The Dynamic Mother-Daughter Duo Ready to Melt Your Heart! Double the fluff, double the devotion! Meet Gigi (6 years old) and Luna (1.5 years old), a deeply bonded mother-and-daughter pair of Shih Tzu Poodle mixes. Weighing in at a portable 10 to 11 pounds each, these San Diego sweethearts are looking for a forever home where they can stay together forever. If you love the idea of a ready-made furry family who will act as your loyal little shadows, this pair is your perfect match. Gigi: The Affectionate Little Princess Gigi is a 6-year-old cuddle bug who lives for human attention. She loves cozy beds, endless belly rubs, and sleeping right next to you at night. If you stop petting her, she will give you the sweetest look to ask for more! Gigi is fantastic on walks, loves meeting new people, and is very responsive to redirection. Due to severe previous ear infections before entering rescue, Gigi no longer has external ear flaps, but this unique look just adds to her undeniable charm and doesn't stop her from living life to the fullest! Luna: The Playful, Resilient Explorer Luna is a 1.5-year-old bundle of youthful energy. Luna is blind, but she doesn't let that slow her down for a single second! She is incredibly intelligent and navigates the home impressively well using her sharp hearing and sense of smell. She loves following her humans from room to room and has a wonderful time playing and romping around with her mom, Gigi. When Luna gets excited or needs to go potty, she exhibits a unique "spinning" behavior, which is a quirky part of her personality. Daily Life, Training, and Quirks • House Training: The girls are trained but do use diapers/belly bands inside, as they can occasionally mark. They do great going potty on walks and using pee pads. A patient adopter who can maintain their routine will help them continue to succeed. • Separation Anxiety: Gigi loves her humans deeply and will vocalize her protest (crying or barking) for about 20-30 minutes when left alone before settling down. Luna is sensitive to her mom's distress and may spin to soothe herself, but both girls calm down nicely once they realize you will always return. • Other Pets: Gigi is great with other dogs on walks but prefers to be the dominant queen of her castle. She will growl if a high-energy dog invades her personal space too quickly, so any resident dogs must be calm, and introductions must be done very slowly. Luna is more submissive but is shy and reserved around new dogs. The Ideal Home Gigi and Luna would thrive best in a medium-activity household with a secure backyard where they can safely explore. Because they love companionship and thrive on routine, they need a home where someone is around frequently during the day. Because Luna is blind and easily feels overwhelmed or unsure around fast movements, they require a home without young children. Luna is a bit sensitive about having her face and paws groomed, so she just needs an adopter who will handle her with a gentle, patient touch. In return, this pair will reward you with boundless affection, entertaining playtime, and a lifetime of love.
