About Lex

Lex recently moved to a new foster home and is settling in beautifully! Here's what his foster mom has to say about him: “Lex is an incredibly sweet boy. He's very submissive with both the big and small dogs in the home, and as he's grown more comfortable, he's even started playing with the larger dogs. He did wonderfully during his bath, blowout, and nail trim, and he doesn't mind being brushed daily. He recently visited the dog park and did fantastic, happily greeting every person and dog he met. He also loves going on walks and listens very well. Lex is potty trained and will kennel on command. His Husky side shows up with some whining and howling when he first kennels, but it's brief. He sleeps through the night in his kennel with minimal fuss and overall he has been an easy houseguest! Lex is a 1 1/2 year old, 58 lb German Shepherd/Husky/Bull Terrier mix. He would do best in a home with another medium or large dog and with someone who works from home or is home most of the time. No cats or apartments, please. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs.
