Meet Thaddeus, a striking two-year-old Dachshund/Coonhound mix who is finally tasting true freedom. Rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding case in Southeast Louisiana where 36 dogs were found living in a cramped RV, Thaddeus is leaving the "deplorable" conditions of his past behind for a life full of hope. While the world can still feel a little big and scary to him, Thaddeus is proving to be brave in the sweetest way-he is already eager to welcome pets and affection from his new human friends. He is a shy, soulful boy who is clearly relishing the extra room to roam and the simple joy of a kind touch. Thaddeus weighs 17 lbs making him the perfect size for any home, is remarkably heartworm negative and will be fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. We can't wait to watch this handsome fella blossom like a spring flower into the loyal, gentle companion he was always meant to be. The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention.
