Charlotte is a wonderfully sweet 5-year-old English Bulldog with quite a story to tell. She is originally from another state, and when her owner left her with a friend while out of town, the "friend" rehomed Charlotte. Somehow, 3 years later, she was found in Indianapolis in the middle of a moderately busy road. Attempts to find a local owner failed, and her original owner could not afford to make the trip to Indiana to get her. Charlotte has come to live in a Misty Eyes foster home until we find just the right new forever home for her. Someone who is experienced with Bulldog breeds would be the ideal new owner for Charlotte. She's pretty laid-back, potties outside when kept on a regular schedule, and is good with other well-balanced dogs, although she must be fed separately because she will guard her food. She is crate-trained, but will let you know when she's ready to come out. Her favorite pastimes are napping, eating, getting attention and lounging outside when the weather is decent. Bulldogs are high maintenance -- they should not wear collars due to their breathing difficulties, they should not be outside for long in hot weather and will require regular checkups to monitor for common Bulldog ailments. Bulldogs can be stubborn and hard-headed, so Charlotte will need an adopter who will be patient with her.
