Winston is 3.5 years old and weighs about 37 lbs. He was a street dog simply trying to survive, navigating a world where every day meant searching for food, avoiding cars, dodging poison, and staying away from people who aren’t always kind to stray dogs. On top of that, Winston was repeatedly bullied by a large owned dog in the area that was often allowed to roam off leash. One of those attacks left him with a broken leg. We got Winston the help he needed, and his leg was repaired. It has healed well, though he does still have a slight limp right now. The vet expects him to make a full recovery within the next 2–3 months. After everything he went through, returning him to the same streets was not an option. He deserved better, so Winston was brought to safety. And despite all of it, he is incredibly sweet. Winston is gentle with people, not dog aggressive, and currently lives with other dogs in the shelter without any issues. He has every reason not to trust the world—but he still does. Winston has already overcome so much. Now he just needs someone to give him what he’s never had before—a safe, loving home where he can finally just be a dog.
