About Snickers

What are you waiting for? Apply today! Snickers is one of several mixed breeds who arrived after his previous home became overwhelmed by too many dogs—a reminder of the importance of spay/neuter. Over just a few years, two dogs and their offspring multiplied into more than twenty! Most of Snickers' family has found loving homes, but as one of the most fearful, he is still waiting for his special person to come along. At around 2 1⁄2 years old, this mixed breed hound weighs under 45 pounds fully grown. Snickers had never experienced life outside his first home or yard, and walking on a leash was entirely new to him. He has made great progress learning to trust special people. Snickers forms strong bonds with other dogs and would do best in a calm, patient adult-only home, paired with a confident canine companion who can help him adjust. Busy environments, loud noises, and crowds easily startle him, and he finds comfort in seeking the safety of his kennel. The bustling shelter is especially tough on sensitive dogs like Snickers, so a quiet home would mean the world to him. Though he’s dealt with chronic ear infections that require a special hypoallergenic diet and gentle vet care, Snickers is healthy and continuing to improve. If you are looking for a gentle, resilient, and loving companion, Snickers may be your perfect match. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
